Great South Run

A lot of people worry about being not good enough or the slow one at the back. Today l ran with the elite women at the Great South Run, standing next to Olympians and European Champions like Jo Pavey was very inspiring and when they talk to you.

I started talking to Jo Pavey about babies in the queue for the loo. I could have chatted for ages. It transpired that Jo has had two c sections. It certainly hasn't slowed her down and when you look at the shape she is in at 42 you realise that you cannot give up on yourself. Keep striving for better or more importantly what you want.

It was a lonely race for me as I was slower than Jo but faster than the ones behind me. So l was mostly on my own, which meant I lost focus and only managed to pick my pace back up at the end. Managed a pb and finished the 10 miles in an hour dead!
